Top pick: #4 (DOINGHARDTIMEAGAIN) (7-2) - Cal. bred has carved out a solid career and has been most effective racing on synthetic surfaces (6-4-1-0). She's stretching out in distance after a sharp looking win at Los Alamitos in a G2 sprint and is also going dirt to "poly." Tommy Town home-bred has done well at this trip in the past 3-2-1-0 and there's lots of potential pace signed on to set up a stretch run.
2nd pick: #2 (Iotapa) (8-5) - The probable favorite, she comes off a career best at Santa Anita on June 14th. Filly went gate-to-wire to win by just over 10-lengths in the G1 "Vanity" stakes. Working well for this and daughter of "Afleet Alex" has done well on "poly" surfaces in the past (3-2-1-0). Obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Broken Sword) (3-1) - She's an uncoupled barn-mate of "Doinghardtimeagain" and is working very fast locally for her first since Jan. 19. Lightly-raced 4-year-old has won two of three on synthetic surfaces and won the G2 "Bayakoa" in wire-to-wire fashion at Hollywood Park last Dec.
4th pick: #1 (Fiftyshadesofhay) (5-2) - Steady performer moves back to a synthetic surface after a quartet of races on real dirt. Working fast locally and one-run type finished second to "Broken Sword" the last time she raced on a "poly" track.
