Top pick: #1 (ALREADY THERE) - He's one of two entered by trainer Pete Miller and they'll race as separate interests. Colt ran third last out despite a wide trip from a tough outside post. Barn brings him back in 22 days, has worked him twice since, and today he has the rail. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Got Even) - The second of the Miller pair finished fourt in his debut after being involved in a pace duel through fast splits. Appears to have out-worked his barn mate at Hollywood July 11 and must be considered a win candidate.
3rd pick: #10 (Valentine Boy) - He pressed a fast pace before tiring in his debut and did so despite "bobbling" at the start. He's worked three times since that July 2 race and "P. Val" stays put.
4th pick: #4 (Gifted Monarch) - Colt finished a pace-setting/pressing 3rd in his debut June 5. He's had four published drills since and should contend with some improvement.
