Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (LIL SYDNEY) (6-1) - He tired late after a stressful trip between horses going seven furlongs at this level June 13 at Santa Anita. This lightly raced 4yo had broken his maiden there at six furlongs in his previous start on May 16, and I give him a slight edge today.
2nd pick: #7 (Mantaray Island) (7-2) - On the sidelines since March 22 of last year, he's lightly raced, is working fast, takes a big drop, and has plenty of early speed. A NEW gelding, he's a major win candidate if ready.
3rd pick: #8 (All I Can Say) (3-1) - He's been competitive in both stats facing weaker since coming off a 17-month layoff May 22. No speed type is cutting back after finishing 2nd at a mile June 12, and he'll need some pace help to make his late-running style effective.
