Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (BIG LEAGUE) (9-5) - Freshened up since Sept. 4, he raced both wide and evenly here that afternoon facing tougher going seven furlongs. It was his first 'out of the money' in five local attempts, and he should beat these on the drop.
2nd pick: #3 (Trickonomics) (10-1) - Lightly raced and speedy, state bred has been freshened up since breaking his maiden going 5.5 furlongs Sept. 7 at Los Alamitos. I think he can be in this from start-to-finish at a square price.
3rd pick: #7 (Upperclassman) (3-1) - Speedy gelding set/pressed a quick pace and held gamely to finish 3rd, beaten only a bit over a length racing at this level and distance Sept. 30 at Santa Anita. A repeat of that effort makes him a threat.
