Top pick: #8 (ARIGATO) (2-1) - The probable favorite, he chased while racing wide and held down the place spot when debuting here facing tougher going 5-furlongs July 24th. Trainer Mike Pender has worked him twice since, drops him down, and has him going an extra 1/2 a furlong in this spot. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Mikes Lion) (3-1) - One of two entered by trainer Steve Miyadi and this colt has finished third in both starts to date. Colt drops in price and gets a rider upgrade to Tyler Baze.
3rd pick: #6 (Gottalovethosecats) (15-1) - The second of the Miyadi pair, he tired after showing early seed debuting here on Aug. 4. Barn brings him back quickly, drops him a bit, and gelding had a big half-mile work six days ago. Price play.
4th pick: #7 (Aaron's Thunder) (7-2) - No-speed type rallied to finish second here on July 25th and was a bit over a length better than "Mike's Lion" that afternoon. Improving, and the faster the pace, the better his chances.
