Top pick: #3 (HOME MADE BROWNIE) (3-1) - The main speed of this group, she's dropping in class and shortening up in distance for this attempt. Daughter of "Big Brown" tired last out for a $40K tag after dueling for the lead. She meets a weak field and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Galehorn) (7-2) - Filly has finished second in two of three starts since returning from a 10 1/2 month layoff in early Sept. She had a new trainer for that start (John Sadler) and the improvement came with a drop into claimers. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Secret Bobbie) (8-1) - One of two who showed nothing when debuting against much tougher at Santa Anita. She raced wide through-out from a tough post and has been working fast since at Los Alamitos. Drops down, goes dirt to "poly," and has a better post.
4th pick: #4 (Mary Taylor) (4-1) - "Mary" also showed nothing in her debut at Santa Anita four weeks ago. Drops way down, has blinkers added, and moves from dirt to synthetic. She should be competitive in this spot.
