(# 2) OEDIPUS O'NEAL - Best race of his last five came at this track at the same distance and condition that he faces today. Just missed by a head after setting all the pace and hanging on doggedly. Working well after a two-mile dirt race at the Spa. he should be very sharp today. Looking for him to be the pace-setter again.

(# 6) Bold Hawk - Lightly raced, he obviously has some big talent. Poor start cost him in last at the Spa., his first try against winners. Still finished third. Working well since returning to Long Island, this is the track, surface and distance that he broke his maiden at on July 21.

(#' 7) League of Nations - Very consistent runner always puts in a late charge, and his figures are ultra-reliable. This is his fifth try at this condition since breaking his maiden. He's run well in all without really threatening to win.

(#'s 1 and 4) Exton and Jansdream - Would use this pair in small exacta boxes with the top two. Lightly on top and more underneath.
