Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (LIGHT THE NIGHT) (3-1) - He's been competitive in both starts going shorter. Home bred rallied to finish third when debuting Sept 3 at Saratoga, then finished second here Sept 26. He was much closer to the pace last out and son of 'Street Cry' has worked fast since. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Jan's Reserve) (5-1) - Speedy colt has been on the sidelines for the past two months. He was competitive in both turf sprints during the summer and $150,000 purchase should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #11 (War of Ideas) (3-1) - One of seven making their debuts, grey son of 'War Front' is from the barn of Chad Brown (21% first out). Grey colt sold for $470K a year ago and has a near bullet five-furlong breeze here Oct 5. He has a nice post for this distance and Irad Ortiz Jr. is aboard. The trainer/jockey team is a strong one, having won 75 of 267 (27%) over the past 21 months.
4th pick: #7 (Beaukati) (15-1) - Long shot ran evenly when debuting here in a dirt sprint Sept 19. He's worked three times since, is bred for the grass, and trainer Barclay Tagg did some fine work at Saratoga with his juvenile runners.
