Washington State at USC

Washington State has split its first two games, losing only to No. 11 Oregon. The offense (438.5 yards, 33.5 points per game) has been sharp behind QB Jayden de Laura (4 TDs, 1 INT) while RB Deon McIntosh is averaging 7.0 yards per carry. And preseason All-Pac-12 running back Max Borghi is back at practice after missing the first two games. Washington State has been very good in upsetting ranked teams, beating No. 25 Iowa State in the 2018 Alamo Bowl along with a win at No. 24 Stanford in 2018. USC is delighted and relieved to be 3-0, with a pair of games they were outplayed and should have lost, rallying to nip Arizona State (28-27) and Arizona (34-30). The defense has been shaky, allowing over 110 rushing yards in every game (111, 158, 175 yards). They are allowing 175.7 yards rushing per contest, along with 387.7 total yards and 24.7 points per contest. These teams played two squeakers in the last two meetings, a 39-36 USC win two years ago and a 30-27 Washington State win in 2017. The Cougars are more than capable of pulling the upset.
