Chicago has won five of seven after defeating the Mets 3-1 on Monday when Christopher Morel hit a two-run homer off Edwin Diaz to snap a ninth-inning tie. New York has lost six of eight and in five of those games it failed to score more than two runs. Javier Assad has allowed only six runs in 27 innings for the Cubs this season and he comes off a 3-1 win over Houston when he gave up a run on four hits in 5 2/3 innings. Sean Manaea has allowed 11 runs (nine earned) in 24 1.3 innings and his teams are 1-7 his past eight home starts dating to last season. Assad has made one start against the Mets and his ERA is 1.50 with a 1.33 WHIP. Take the Cubs as a Max Play.
